Wireless Quality Assurance Engineer
Job Requirements : *Experience 2G/3G handset or datacard product design
and
validation. * Must have expertise in packet data communications as a
GPRS/EGPRS or UMTS application. * 3GPP UMTS experience is a plus. *
Prior
experience with GCF/PTCRB Type Approval requirements, labs and test
systems
is a plus. * Prior experience with wireless LAN certification for
802.11
and/or WHQL is a plus. * A thorough understanding of test
methodologies,
including test planning and test case design, functional test, system
test,
type approval test and regression test as well as software quality
assurance best practices is desireable.
Must be fluent in English, have excellent cooperation skills, willing
to
share your knowledge, and have a positive "can-do" attitude, while
being
effective and focused
Description : Multiple opportunities exist for QA Engineers with
various
experience levels.
In this role you will be part of a team to develop Broadcom's next
generation of mobile phone handsets. These include GSM/GPRS/EDGE and
WCDMA
based devices, with a roadmap to new high-speed standards.
The candidate will design, implement and execute product validation
test
cases for wireless networking products such as 2G/3G handsets or
embedded
modules. The candidate must be able to formally document and
communicate
test schedules, test plans and test results. The candidate will support
formal type approval and certification testing such as GCF/PTCRB,
802.11x,
and WHQL as well as traveling for field testing, inter-operability test
activities and operator/customer acceptance testing. Interaction with
customers and some on-site customer support/debugging is expected.
Participation in continuous process improvement and defect prevention
activities is expected.
