Politics Economics — Leading Tory seeks to exempt poor from paying tax. by John Wane (611 views)
The poverty line in the UK (£9,266 a year) is usually considered to be 60%
of median income (£15,444 a year).
Lord Saatchi, former Tory party co-chairman, today proposed exempting those
below the poverty line from paying tax entirely.
I think this would further divide the excluded from the tax paying majority.
The poor want to get closer to the taxpayers, not further apart.
